Master Bath Design-Remodel Fairfax, Virginia
A small door led from the master bedroom into this master bath combination, a separate vanity area then door to the toilet/shower room. Very builder grade and mundane, with original tile and cultured marble vanity tops on ordinary cabinets.
The homeowners liked having the separate rooms for privacy, but little else. They wanted a special space, something unique, but not extravagant. The tub was of no practical use, as what these homeowners needed was a comfortable shower that would serve to get up and go, or end the stress of the day.
The small bedroom doorway was replaced with a double door, modern style full view with frosted glass. This same type of door was then used between the vanity and bath areas, and the style mimicked further in a painted wood version for the two closet areas.
Dated bulkheads and recessed lighting, along with a full view mirror and plain countertop and cabinetry were replaced with a sophisticated configuration of dark maple cabinets and cream marble tops. A shallow tower cabinet, custom fit to the to the angled ceiling, divides the individual vanity areas, complimented with matching framed wall mirrors and wall sconces.
The tub becomes a walk-in shower, well apportioned with custom frameless door, body jets and tiled corner bench.
A Key West style pedestal sink and toilet, along with brushed nickel faucet and accessories to match the shower trim completes the pretty picture.
